- Provide additional MRB support for metallic structures and other aircraft systems as required.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and Nonconformance Reports to determine appropriate engineering dispositions.
- Develop clear, technically sound dispositions in accordance with approved engineering procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support Material Review Board activities by providing timely engineering decisions that minimize production delays and maintain manufacturing flow.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Stress Engineering, Materials and Processes, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and other technical disciplines to resolve complex or out-of-scope deviations.
- Provide technical consultation, drawing interpretation, repair guidance, and troubleshooting support to Manufacturing, Quality, the internal composites shop, and external suppliers.
- Evaluate proposed repairs and rework plans for structural and manufacturing nonconformances.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities, including RCCA and 8D processes.
- Communicate engineering decisions clearly to both technical and production personnel.
- Maintain accurate documentation of engineering evaluations, dispositions, and supporting technical rationale.
- Provide onsite production support at the Burlington, Vermont facility.
- Support weekend production shifts when required, generally anticipated to be approximately every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience working as an MRB, Liaison, Manufacturing Support, or Production Support Engineer in the aerospace industry.
- Strong experience evaluating and dispositioning manufacturing nonconformances.
- Demonstrated knowledge of composite aircraft structures, materials, manufacturing processes, and repair methods.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, structural requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience working directly with aircraft manufacturing, production, and quality teams.
- Strong understanding of MRB procedures, engineering change processes, and configuration-controlled documentation.
- Ability to make timely engineering decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Availability to work onsite in Burlington, Vermont and support weekend production shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting composite fabrication and assembly operations.
- Experience with both composite and metallic aircraft structures.
- Familiarity with stress analysis, structural repair development, and damage tolerance principles.
- Experience supporting prototype, advanced air mobility, electric aircraft, or new aircraft development programs.
- Experience with root cause and corrective action methodologies such as RCCA, 8D, or similar processes.
- Previous experience supporting suppliers and internal manufacturing shops.
- Experience working in a high-rate or rapidly evolving production environment.
