• Performs detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
• Supports creating documentation for mechanical / fluid system design
• Supports the development of system design proposals
• Experience with material selection and construction in both metallic and composite components
• Ability to perform geometric tolerancing analysis
• Knowledge of basic stress and structural loading calculations
• Knowledge of FAA Part 25 regulatory requirements pertaining to mechanical and fluid systems
• Knowledge and application of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M
• Experience with Catia V5 or similar
• Experience with model management systems (Smarteam, Teamcenter preferred)
• Report on status of projects in open forums
• Develop schedules and estimates based on requirements
• Makes technical decisions and provides recommendations

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• 13 ys in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
• Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

• Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.
• Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
• Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
• Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas.
• Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements.
